Who Are We?
The History of a Family in Printing
Robert “Bob” Schroeder established State Graphics in 2012 in Wheeling, IL. But the origin of his story traces back decades earlier, with roots in The Great Depression. Robert’s father William and his grandfather Marshall were instrumental in initiating Bob’s love of printing. Marshall Schroeder began his career in the 1930s, documenting a tumultuous era in history at the Waukegan News-Sun. William Schroeder got his start writing, designing, and producing a comic strip for his school newspaper — at the tender young age of 10.
As he developed his own career, Bob discovered both an affinity and a talent for the family tradition of putting ink to paper, and after outgrowing a printing franchise purchased in 2007, his path led him to open the present-day venture known as State Graphics — encompassing multiple locations and dozens of traditional and digital machines.
